Government has reaffirmed its commitment to creating sustainable jobs and wealth for Zambians.

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe says government has put in place an enabling policy to support value addition to available local resources.
Ms. Mwanakatwe says government is aware that the Zambian economy cannot develop without the participation of the private sector.
She notes that a viable and well functioning private sector operating in a competitive environment is what drives the economy and creates jobs and wealth.
Ms. Mwanakatwe was speaking in Lusaka today when she officiated at the commissioning of the National Breweries new plant for opaque beer worth US$ 29 million.
Speaking earlier, National Breweries Managing Director Annabelle Degroot disclosed that the new plant has increased opaque beer production to1.5 million hectoliters.
Ms. Degroot states that the brewery company still has the capacity to expand to a further 2.5 hectolitres.
