ERB directs Oil Marketing Companies to adhere license condition

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has directed Oil Marketing Companies to ensure filling stations countrywide have on site, a fully functional compressor, tyre inflator and pressure gauge in accordance with the standard license to Retail Petroleum Products.

ERB Public Relations Manager Kwali Mfuni in a statement says the ERB has observed non compliance with regard to the provision of compressed air by a number of sites during ongoing nationwide compliance monitoring inspections.

Ms. Mfuni says the ERB has since directed all licensees to ensure provision of free ancillary services such as compressed air and a clean toilet.

She says failure to do so will compel the ERB to take enforcement action against all erring licensees for non compliance.

Ms. Mfuni has also encouraged members of the public to monitor provision of this service and report to the ERB when not available on toll free line 8080.
