President Edgar Lungu has been advised to ignore unproductive criticism because the majority of Zambians appreciate his able leadership.

A Clergyman from Chinsali says not everyone will appreciate the good works of the Head of State and they know he has the qualities of a good leader such as his exemplary humility and openness of heart.

The President was advised when he and first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda attended a church service at the historical United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Lubwa Mission Congregation.

The President is in the company of first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda whose parents pioneered this mission station in the 1900s.

Later in the afternoon, President Lungu will escort Dr Kaunda to lay wreaths on the graves of the former president’s parents at Lubwa site.

Leading the sermon based on the Bible readings from the books of Psalms 51:1-9, Luke 23:32-39, and John 20:19-23, Reverend Joseph Kabaso has emphasized confession of sin and forgiveness for one another as essential elements of peaceful coexistence.

Reverend Kabaso says peace and unity are a responsibility of every citizen.

He says the sanctity of life is above all human pursuits and therefore everyone must ensure they promote peace to prevent bloodshed.

He adds that forgiveness is a higher spiritual gift that all Christians must practice.

Reverend Kabaso states that people must avoid self-centeredness and embrace humility.
