Lumwana reflect on first win

Lumwana Radiants coach Allan Kamwanga has praised the Faz Super League debutants for picking up their first away win of the season.

The promoted side on Saturday beat Forest Rangers 2-1 away at Dola Hill in Ndola to remain unbeaten in their opening two games with a match in hand.

Kamwanga said his charges were staying calm, noting that this was just the start of a long campaign for the first-timers.

“We are happy with this being our first away game and first away win,” Kamwanga said.

The win came a week after Lumwana kicked off their 2016 campaign with a 1-1 home draw with Red Arrows and they now have four points from two matches.

“We came with an open plan but we had watched Forest against Mufulira Wanderers last week. They are a good side but ultimately we came here to get three points and we got them.”

Lumwana, who missed Week 1 due to opponents Zesco United’s 2016 Caf Champions League commitments, are on the road again in mid-week.

Kamwanga’s side will make their league debut in Lusaka on April 6 where they will face Nkwazi in a Week 4 fixture.
