Police in Lusaka have apprehended George Lanzby Mulolo popularly known as ‘Mpweto’ aged 37 years of no fixed- aboard for swindling construction companies and individuals purporting that he was a Principal Engineer working for Road Development Agency (RDA) seconded to the Ministry of Health.

Police spokesperson Charity Chanda – Munganga says Mulolo has been going round swindling unsuspecting persons out of colossal sums of monies alleging that he was a Ministry of Health employee in-charge of allocation and adoptions of 205 Health Post sites on the Copperbelt, Central and Eastern Provinces.

Mrs. Chanda says the offenses are alleged to have been committed between October 2015 and January 2016 citing that so far 20 victims have launched complaints against the suspect and six motor vehicles recovered.

She has since appealed to members of public who could have fallen victim to George Mulolo to report at Police Service headquarters in room 216.

Ms. Munganga has further warned members of the public to be wary of such people and not to transact with individuals when dealing with public or government works but follow the laid down procedures.

She states that Mulolo is currently in custody and will appear in court soon.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man aged between 25 and 30 was this morning burnt to death by members of the community in Lusaka’s garden house area.

Police spokesperson Charity Munganga says the man is alleged to have stolen from one of the houses in the area.

She says Investigations into the matter have been launched and has appealed to members of the public not to be taking the law into their own hands but hand over perpetrators of crime to the police.
