The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has described as unfortunate the resistance by some political parties to stop use of military-like regalia.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza says the donning of military-like regalia was identified as one of the causes of political violence during the recent interparty indaba on political violence.

Reverend Mwanza has told QFM News by telephone that such attire has a connotation of militia and gives cadres morale of wanting to act like military personnel on a battlefield.

He says this means that if political parties are not going to discourage the wearing of such regalia, the country will not make progress in curbing political violence.

And the Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) is also disappointed that some political parties do not want to heed to the resolutions of the recent interparty indaba on political violence.

AVAP Executive Director Richwell Mulwani says his organization fears that if the use of military-like regalia is allowed to continue it might lead to voter apathy in the forthcoming general election.
