PF Mandevu hopeful Zambia will have peaceful elections

Ruling PF Mandevu constituency chairman Joseph Tamba is hopeful that this year’s general elections will be peaceful.

Mr. Tamba is also hopeful that the elections will deepen the Country’s credentials as a beacon of peace in Africa.

And Mr. Tamba has called on youths from all political parties in the Country to refuse to be used as tools of political violence by a few individuals who themselves do not participate in the fighting.

Mr. Tamba says with elections approaching in a matter of months, the Zambia Police need to make it clear to all political parties and their supporters that no one is above the law.

He says violence, if left unchecked, could set back Zambia’s notable strides towards peace and multiparty democracy.

Meanwhile PF Kanyama Kanono ward Secretary Christopher Zulu is disappointment that the UPND has continued to shun meetings aimed at discussing the way forward on how to end political Violence.

Mr. Zulu says the ruling party is ready to dialogue with the opposition UPND to find a lasting solution to political violence in the Country.

PF member Chilekwa Chileya has observed the s need for all political parties in the country to unite against the political violence as the country prepares for the August general elections.
