Centralization making PF to fail- UPND

The opposition UPND says Zambia currently needs leaders that will focus on offering a transparent and accountable form of governance.

UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says this means that such leaders must also be competent enough.

And Mr. Lifwekelo says his party is concerned that the current centralized form of governance in Zambia is failing to deliver because of increased alleged corruption.

He says such a form of governance is also one that does not allow citizens’ participation in the decision making process.

Mr. Lifwekelo states that the UPND has taken note that the national cake is thus only being shared by a few allies or sympathizers of the government.

He says this is why the UPND believes that it is of urgent need to decentralize governance structures to increase participation of citizens and enhance accountability.

Mr. Lifwekelo says this is what his party also thinks will further decrease political intolerance in the Country and enhance trust and transparency in government.
