EAZ President Crispin Mphuka says although government is justifying its borrowing in order to finance projects, it is doing so without a proper appraisal system in place.

Dr. Mphuka notes that in the absence of a project appraisal mechanism, there is no way to ascertain the viability of the projects the government is borrowing for.

He says it is a waste of money to commit resources to projects in such a manner when the country is already struggling economically.

Dr. Mphuka says government should rethink its borrowing decisions before the economy is plunged into chaos.
