The ruling PF has disclosed that they will be holding a solidarity match to the Chinese Embassy on Tuesday to commend them for not being part of a clandestine meeting that took place recently.

Some diplomats over the weekend met the UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema at his residence for lunch, the move which has been received with mixed feelings.

In letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police obtained by QFM News today, the PF are seeking permission to hold a solidarity match from Addis Ababa Drive to the Chinese Embassy.

And PF Information Committee Secretary Reverend Jevan Kamanga tells QFM News that the party will be presenting a letter of appreciation to the Embassy for respecting and observing the Vienna Convention on the Conduct of Representatives of foreign governments in countries they serve.

He has confirmed that the participating members will be about 50 who will match through to the embassy.

Meanwhile, Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has challenged diplomats who visited UPND President Hakainde Hichilema’s residence over the weekend to tell the nation their intentions of visiting the UPND leader in view of the growing reports that they have endorsed him ahead of this year’s general elections.

Mr. Malambo says diplomats anywhere in the world, are not supposed to engage in active politics and thus the need for them to clean their names.

He wonders why the diplomats decided to visit Mr. Hichilema and not any of the opposition leaders in the country.
