Only 83 police officers have been deployed to Monze – Mwila

Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila says government deployed a total of eighty three police officers to Monze in order to reinforce the officers based in the province.

Mr. Mwila says this is a common law enforcement practice that is aimed at ensuring that the police service keeps order in the country.

The Home Affairs Minister has told Parliament that the deployment of police officers to Monze was as a result of the Bweengwa violence which he believes was planned by some political elements.

And Mr. Mwila says government has not declared a state of emergency in Monze or anywhere else in the country as claimed by certain sections of the communities.

He says the police services often conduct such deployment to prevent any further breaches of peace and public order.
