President Edgar Lungu has arrived in Eastern Province on a three-day working visit that will take him to Mfuwe, Chama, Lundazi, Vubwi, Chadiza Katete and Chipata.

At Mfuwe the President told a cheering crowd that the PF is enjoying nationwide support and therefore they party cadres must step up its mobilization to sustain the ruling party edge of the opposition.

At Chama the President has met with chiefs and party officials and inspected a number of projects.

The Head of State is encouraged by the massive response from the grassroots and urged party leaders to prepare for adoption of candidates at all levels of the forthcoming general  elections.

In Lundazi the President will among other things commission the newly built Indo Zambia Bank building and urge the financial services sector to do more to spread banking service to rural areas.

In prepared remarks the President will say the launch of the branch represents the PF’s transformative agenda that has in the shortest possible time rolled out massive infrastructure developments across the country.

State House Spokesperson Amos Chanda in a statement says among the unprecedented projects taking place on Lundazi include the modern hospital, a Dam, Chased boarding school, Lundazi trades training school, Lundazi Chama Road, a new airstrip, 150 houses and new district council head office.

President Lungu is also expected to hold a special meeting on Saturday with Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni speaking people at Laweni palace before gracing the Nc’wala ceremony.
