Plans by MPs to pass to Bill to get full gratuity selfish- ZV

The Zambian Voice has described as selfish plans by Members of Parliament to pass a Bill that will enable them get their gratuity in full despite Parliament dissolving early than usual this year.

Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says his organization has come across information suggesting that in view of the amendments made to republican constitution MPs may not get their gratuity in full but that they are planning to make changes to the constitution before the dissolution of Parliament in May.

Mr. Tayali says the Zambian Voice is concerned that MPs want to make changes to the constitution on the last hour to get their money when there many urgent matters that need their attention.

He says his organization is wondering why MPs are not as swift in amending the Public Order Act when it has been well established that this law infringements upon people’s rights.

Mr. Tayali has told Qfm news that with such desire for money MPs cannot claim to have the heart for the people.

He has advised Zambians to wake and realize such MPs are only there to serve their own selfish interests not the public good.
