Former Church of God overseer Bishop John Mambo says the public order act should be done away with.

Bishop Mambo says the public order act is colonial piece of legislation and the country should not have it after 50 years of independence.

He notes the public order act only works well for the government of the day but works to the disadvantage of the opposition which is not what the people of Zambia want.

He says parliamentarians should rise to the occasion as the amendment act will be tabled in parliament and ensure that they do away with it.

Bishop Mambo adds that Zambia being a Christian nation, even its laws must conform to the Christianity status by ensuring that they work to the benefit of every Zambian.

He further states that the public order act has brought so much confusion in the country and thus the need to do away with it.
