Lungwangwa urges govt to reopen UNZA, CBU

Former Education Minister Professor Geoffrey Lungwangwa says there is no reason for the continued closure of the University of Zambia and Copperbelt University by Government.

Professor Lungwangwa who is also former University of Zambia Vice Chancellor says this is considering that the students have apologized for their riotous behavior.

He adds that the reasons for the closure of the universities are not good enough to warrant the continued closure of the two institutions.

Professor Lungwangwa states that any government which is serious about the development of the country will ensure that there stability in the entire education system considering that the country is now a knowledge and skills driven economy.

He adds that it is a mark of responsibility and commitment to the development of the nation for a government to ensure there is stability in universities.
