The Zambian Government has praised the Rwandair for its effort in promoting the tourism sector between Zambia and Rwanda.

Speaking during the Rwanda National Day Gala Dinner in Lusaka last evening organized by Rwandair, Tourism and Arts Minister Jean Kapata says Rwandair has made tourism products from the two countries to be easily accessed by tourists visiting the two countries.

Ms Kapata says by offering nonstop flights between Kigali and Lusaka, Rwandair has improved connectivity and reduced the cost of travel and cost of doing business between the two nations.

She says the new route has also introduced a direct and time saving connection to the wider connection to the grate rakes region with which Zambia has extensive trade relations.

Speaking earlier, Rwanda Charge De Affair Abel Buhunga says Rwanda is diversifying its Tourism Sector and has identified business tourism as one of the priorities where it is positioning herself not only as a leisure destination but also as a business hub in the region for hosting of meetings, conventions and exhibitions.

He says with Rwandair’s steady growth and safety reputation, the national carrier has established itself as a secure regional link for tourism as well as for the much needed regional trade and investment.

And Rwandair Country Manager Glyden Mungaila says as part of its expansion strategy, Rwandair expects a delivery of two more brand new boeing 737-800 NG to increase the frequency of routes with increased demand and will launch more routes on the continents by mid this year.
