Mutati institutes legal action against UPND

MUTATI LDCExpelled MMD Lunte Member of Parliament Felix Mutati has instructed his lawyer Sakwiba Sikota to take legal action against the opposition UPND for using his face on the party campaign calendar without his authorization.

Addressing hundreds of his supporters in Lusaka today, Mr. Mutati says he never authorized anyone to use his picture on the UPND campaign program, which he says is damaging to his political career.

He adds that it is because of the UPND calendar that the MMD leadership thinks he is playing double standards.

And the Lunte MP has maintained that the MMD should go to the convention to elect a new party leader.

He says the term of office for MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba has comes to an end this year having been elected through a by-election convention.

Mr. Mutati adds that he will not recognize his expulsion from the former ruling party because he is merely calling for the holding of a convention.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mutati who is also former Commerce Minister has observed that Zambia may end the year with the biggest budget deficit since independence because of reckless government expenditure.

Mr. Mutati has since advised the government to slow down on both internal and external borrowing as this is endangering the country’s economic survival.
