We’ll support Mumba if he gets reelected – faction

MMD Members of Parliament calling for a party convention say they would support party President Nevers Mumba if he is reelected at the convention.

Reacting to Dr. Mumba’s statement that he would still win if the convention was held, Spokesperson Elijah Muchima who is also Ikeleng’i Member of Parliament says the interest of MMD Members of Parliament calling for the convention is to see the party having a leader who is supported by all party members.

He says Dr. Mumba would be cherished as leader of the MMD in the event that he won reelection at the party convention some party members are calling for.

In an interview with QTV, Mr. Muchima says they do not want a leader who will auction the party to another political party.

Mr. Muchima has wondered why Members of Parliament calling for the convention are being accused of intending to auction the MMD to the UPND, when there is already a ploy to auction the former ruling party to the Patriotic Front.
