He notes that mere condemnation of political violence by political party leaders is not helping in any way to curb the vice.

Dr. Ng’oma has told QTV News that the failure by political party leaders to punish their members perpetrating violence could see many people especially women and the aged staying away from political activities.

He adds that the current violent political environment may also act as a hindrance to some people for them to actively participate in political.

Dr. Ngóma states that President Edgar Lungu as Head of State is therefore expected to take decisive action against perpetrators of violence if the vice is to be controlled before the elections.
