Civil Society Organisation Scaling up Nutrition (CSO-SUN) has expressed concern that political parties seeking to form government are not coming out clearly on what they are offering in developing nutrition in the country.

CSO-SUN National Coordinator William Chilufya has observed that political leaders in the country are silent on nutrition related issues a situation he described as worrying.

He says his organisation is looking forward to a leader who would prioritize nutrition in an effort to curb malnutrition and over-nutrition as the country goes to polls.

Mr. Chilufya notes that this priority has been missing in government policy.

He says there is need to improve the nutrition status in the country in order to reduce the current 40 percent stunting rates in under-five children.

And Mr. Chilufya has opened its doors to all political parties in a bid to help them promote Nutrition related programs in their party manifesto.

He says it is against this backdrop his organization is ready to help political parties to address nutrition related programs.
