Govt encourages women in mining

Government has encouraged women interested in venturing into mining to approach the Ministry of Gender for financial and technical support.

Gender Deputy Minister, Dorothy Kazunga says government has a program specifically designed to help women who are in mining and stone crashing by assisting them with funds to expand in their businesses.

Ms Kazunga states that government is also helping women in hatchery by providing them with five thousand to ten thousand chicks as a way of empowering them.

She says government is keen to help women in business.
