Govt Lusaka drivers assured, ‘jobs are safe’

Lusaka province Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale has assured government drivers in the province that they will not lose their jobs as a result of government’s policy to sell some of its vehicle fleet to heads of departments.

Speaking when he addressed the drivers in Lusaka today, Mr. Mwale explained that neither the President nor the Secretary to the Cabinet has issued a directive or a circular to the effect that some government drivers will lose their jobs as a result of the vehicles they were driving being sold off.

Mr. Mwale assured the drivers that their jobs are very secure and therefore there is no need to worry.

He stressed that drivers are very important and without them, it would be difficult for government to carry out its activities.

And Mr. Mwale has further encouraged the drivers to begin upgrading their academic qualifications so that they do not remain at the same level.
