Closure of universities a lesson to students – Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says the closure of the University of Zambia and the Copperbelt University is a good lesson for the students.

Speaking to journalists last evening at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, shortly before departure for the Vatican where he is expected to meet Pope Francis, President Lungu said he had warned the students, but that some forces of evil are playing on their minds.

He says it is important for people to listen to their leaders, stating that the failure by the students to listen is what has led to the closure of the two higher learning institutions.

And President Lungu says Zambia has a lot to learn from people of higher moral authority.

He says the Pope has moral authority and is highly positioned, thus there is a lot to learn from him.

President Lungu is expected to arrive in Italy this afternoon for a two day official, where he will meet Pope Francis at the Vatican tomorrow.

He is also expected to travel to France at the invitation of French President Francoise Hollande.
