Nyimba Member of Parliament Forrie Tembo has appealed to the Office of the Vice President to airlift relief maize to Chikwasha and Bilisao in Luangwa valley in Nyimba district where people are on the verge of starving to death.

Mr. Tembo says any delay to airlift relief food to these areas might lead to people starving to death.

He says the two areas have not received any relief food since the distribution exercise started because they cannot be accessed by road.

Mr. Tembo who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister says Caritas Nyimba who were assigned to carry out the exercise of food distribution in the two areas have no capacity to reach them.

He has emphasized the urgent need to airlift relief food to the two areas to avoid people starving to death.
