The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has extended the period for submission of applications for empowerment project funding for the special initiatives and the district value chains.

CEEC Head of Public Relations and Communications Glenda Masebe says the extension period is from the 2nd to 29th February 2016 at 14:00hours.

Ms. Masebe says the extension is intended to give more time to targeted citizens wishing to undertake investment projects to prepare their applications.

She explains that the special initiative and district value chains are intended to create 35,000 jobs in 2016 as part of government’s job creation and industrialization strategy.

Ms. Masebe says the special initiatives embarked on by the Commission for 2016 include tourism franchising projects, block making, fish hatcheries, innovation in ICT and energy sectors, packaging and water bottling.
