71,702 obtain full Grade 12 certificates

A total of 71,702 candidates out of 125,656 who sat for the Grade 12 examinations in 2015 have obtained full certificates.

General Education Minister John Phiri who announced the results in Lusaka today says this represents an increase of 1.18% compared to the 2014 examinations.Dr Phiri J

Dr. Phiri says of the 71.702 candidates who have obtained full certificates, 30,750 are girls and 40,952 are boys.

He adds that eastern province recorded the highest school certificate pass rate while Copperbelt province recorded the lowest pass rate.

Dr. Phiri also revealed that a total of 33 cases of examination suspected malpractice were reported.

And Dr Phiri has announced that the GCE examinations which are normally held in August will this year be conducted earlier in view of the 2016 general election.
