MMD urges fellow parties to internalize amended constitution

The opposition MMD has urged fellow political parties in the Country to internalize the amended constitution in their individual party regulations.

MMD spokesperson Raphael Nakachinda says this is order that their party structures become align themselves with the provisions of the country’s amended republican constitution.

Mr. Nakachinda says his party is concerned that the current debate on the Country’s constitution has focused on who is joining hands with whom instead of the contents of the document.

He says the constitutional provision of how political parties that have joined hands are expected to work together once in power have also been given no attention.

Mr. Nakachinda thinks that with the amendments made to the republican constitution, political party alliances must be formed on the basis of compromise on policy.
