TIZ warns political parties ahead of August polls

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has warned that it will not hesitate to expose any political party that engages in corruption prior the August 11th general elections.

Executive Director Goodwell Lungu has disclosed to QTV that his organization will, from the 1st February this week, begin monitoring all political party activities in the Country.

Mr. Lungu says his organization will begin with the adoption processes of candidates as it is aware that at this level the likelihood of bribery and corruption is high.

He notes that the interest of his organization is to see that such process at political party levels remain transparent as possible.

He says on the second level the TIZ will also monitor the selection process of presidential running mate of each political party taking part in the general elections.
