President Edgar Lungu has called for transformational approaches to spur technical and vocational training for youth employment on the continent.
Speaking today during a NEPAD meeting of heads of State and Government ahead of the official opening of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, President Lungu says Africa needs to ensure that skills development and mainstreaming of job creation for youths are embedded in the continental development agenda.
He says commended the NEPAD secretariat for actively coordinating the Africa Agenda 2060, the driver for the continent’s dream of the ‘AFRICA WE WANT’.
President Lungu called for clearer definition of the role of NEPAD’s coordination role so that all stakeholders understood what it was doing.
President Lungu who also attended a meeting of the Committee of Ten on UN Security Council reforms seconded the adoption of the report on the position of Africa on the matter.
