NAINZ concerned albinos are still not seen normal

The National Albinism Networking Initiative of Zambia (NAINZ) is concerned that society still has not accepted albinos as normal human beings.

Network publicity director Derrick Phiri says society has continued to discriminate against Albinos, thereby compounding the challenges they face.

Mr. Phiri points out that it is also sad that some parents have continued to neglect their albino children forcing them to end up on the streets.

He says children be it albinos or any other are a gift from God, and thus parents should accept them and take care of them.

Mr. Phiri has emphasized that albinos are normal people who if given opportunities can effectively contribute to the development of the nation like any other citizen.

Mr. Phiri has however, commended government for the efforts it is making in addressing the challenges being faced by albinos in the country.
