Lungu handed Mines audit findings

The technical committee appointed by government to audit the operations of the mines has today presented its findings to President Edgar Lungu.

The Government Mining Industry Technical Audit Committee led by Dr. Sixtus Mulenga presented the findings to President Edgar Lungu at State House.

Labour and Social Security Minister Fackson Shamenda explained to President Lungu that the committee was constituted to look at the operations of the mines that resulted in the loss of jobs in the mining sector.

Mr. Shamenda, who could not disclose the contents of the report, says the team has done a good job that will help government ascertain the impact these challenges had on the mining sector.
