Govt signs aide memoire with AfDB

The Zambian Government has signed an aide memoire with the African Development Bank (ADB) for the hosting of the ADB Annual meetings to be held in Lusaka in May this year.

Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lusaka, Secretary to the Treasury, Fredson Yamba said the aide memoire signifies government’s commitment to ensuring that all areas of pertinent to the success of the annual meetings received attention in the course of the preparations.

Mr. Yamba explains that the ADB mission has had an intense, but productive week at various aspects and undertook assessments in areas such as information technology, air and local transportation, protocol services, hospitality social programs, health, security and media services.

He says other areas assessed include the ongoing works at the conference facility and reviewing of all the facilities available at the conference center that is expected to be completed by mid-February.

And Head of Mission Olivier Pinzi says the main objective of coming to Zambia was to see the progress made in areas of accommodation, facilities, logo and event management.
