Republican President Edgar Lungu has embarked on a three day tour of Eastern Province to inspect various government projects in the province.

The Head of State is also expected to have meetings with Chiefs from Eastern Province, businessmen and other important people.

Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo has confirmed the development to QFM News via telephone that the President will today start his Eastern Province tour starting with Nyimba District.

Mr. Kasolo says President Lungu will also inspect the construction of Nyimba District Hospital to see the progress made on the construction of this hospital.

Mr. Kasolo says the President in the district is expected to have a meeting the traditional leadership as well as businessmen.

He says President Lungu will tour Petauke, Katete, Sinda, Mambwe and Chipata districts.

meanwhile, President Lungu says the construction of the National House of Prayer is one way of appreciating God for the peace and stability that Zambia has been enjoying for so many years.

The Head of State says the house of prayer will no doubt unite the nation and seek the face of God.

And the President says he is not ashamed to give God a house of prayer to be constructed in Lusaka.

Speaking during the National House of Prayer fundraising dinner in Lusaka on Saturday evening, President Lungu says considering the social and economic challenges Zambia has been facing, evoking the presence of God is important.

President Lungu states that his personal desire to align Zambia to God was not born out of human desire but was inspired by the Spirit of God saying he deserves no glory for this.

Speaking at the same event, Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Construction of the National House of Prayer Bishop Joshua Banda implored Zambians to support this initiative saying it will help the nation in many things.
