FDD urges Lungu to focus on fiscal management

The opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) has charged that President Edgar Lungu’s greatest challenge in his one year of being in office is lack of fiscal management skills.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says President Lungu and the PF government should admit that they have not faired well in this aspect of governance.

Mr. Mwanza says for the past one year, President Lungu has been struggling to put things correct in the country but is failing because of lack of plan.

He says President Lungu’s inconsistency in policy direction has also cost the country and may land the entire nation in total hunger.

Mr. Mwanza has since demanded for better management of the country’s economy.

And Mr. Mwanza says the indication by government to import maize is another indication of policy inconsistency saying government was advised to stop exporting maize in view of dry spells but that it never listened.
