YWCA happy with revocation of Kanene’s GBV ambassador status

The Young Women Christian Association has added its voice to those that have commended President Edgar Lungu for revoking the appointment of musician Clifford Dimba alias General Kanene as an ambassador against Gender Based Violence (GBV).

YWCA Chingola district Chairperson Gertrude Mutenda says the decision is long overdue.

She says the allegation of assault Dimba is facing in court paints a bad picture for a GBV ambassador.

Ms Mutenda says an ambassador is supposed to be a role model and an example of positive change in society.

She says President Lungu’s decision to revoke Dimba’s appointment will enhance the fight against GBV in the country.
