Fuel supply slowly returning to normal

The fuel supply situation in Lusaka is slowly returning to normal with a number of filling stations beginning to receive supplies.

This comes after fuel tanker drivers called off the strike that had caused an acute fuel shortage in the country.

A check by QFM News at selected service stations this afternoon found fuel tanker had started delivering fuel,with long queues of motorists trying refuel their vehicles.

At Puma Filling Station at Arcades, a long queue of motorists stretched up to the the Great East Road, while Puma service station at Manda Hill had run out of fuel.

Mount Meru Filling Station along Kafue road had fuel, while Total Filling Station on the same road had no fuel with motorists being turned back.

And some motorists found at Kobil Filling Station at the corner of Lumumba and Kafue roads have told QFM News that their vehicles had run out of fuel and that they opted to park their cars at the filling station hoping that the next consignment of fuel will be delivered.

Meanwhile, some tanker drivers told QFM News that they have started loading fuel at TAZAMA fuel depot in Ndola destined for Lusaka.

The drivers, who sought anonymity, said they started loading fuel this afternoon and are confident that by tomorrow midday the capital city will be flooded with fuel.
