Siavonga DC assures resident they will not starve

Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has assured residents in the district that no one will starve to death as a result of the prolonged dry spell being experienced in the border district.

Mr. Kanyama tells QFM News by telephone that there is a growing worry among residents that they may die of hunger because of the
inadequate rainfall.

He says government is there to ensure that no one starves.

Mr. Kanyama says people should be calm as the government is alive to the fact that they need food in view of the anticipated low crop production.

Meanwhile, the Siavonga District Commissioner has directed the District Education Board Secretary(DEBS) to ensure schools allow pupils who have made it to Grade 10 to report for school while their parents and guardians look for money.
