In a statement to Qfm News Mr. Katuka notes that UPND also hopes that President Lungu’s call will not be another of the usual rhetoric orders.

Mr. Katuka notes that his party has so far heard too many statements from President Lungu condemning violence but that the exact opposite is what is still allegedly being done by PF cadres.

He states that the UPND expected that President Lungu would go further to urge those who have uttered tribal remarks in his government and party unreservedly apologize as a way of showing remorse.

Mr. Katuka has referred to Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili, Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda and PF Secretary General Davies Chama as some of those that should have apologized.

He says President Lungu must also direct public media to be responsible enough and promote national unite by accommodating divergent views and feature other players fairly in their coverage.
