DMMU ready to deal with aftermath of dry spell

Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) National Coordinator Patrick Kangwa says the unit is ready to deal with any calamity that would arise as a result of the dry spell being experienced in some parts of the country.

Mr. Kangwa says the DMMU has come up with stringent measures to ensure it deals with the looming hunger in parts of the country experiencing drought this farming season.

He says the DMMU is presently carrying out an assessment to ascertain the number of affected areas.

Mr. Kangwa has emphasized that the DMMU stands ready to deal with disasters that arise in the country.
