People’s party President Mike Mulongoti has called on government to update the nation on the progress made in revising the Public Order Act.
Mr. Mulongoti says the country cannot afford to go into campaigns with the Public Order Act in its current form, which he says works to the advantage of the ruling party.
Mr. Mulongoti says to avoid chaos and create a level playing field; there is an urgent need to review this law before official campaigns kick off.
He says the PF government is aware of the negative effects of the Public Order Act on the opposition thus the need to review it before elections.
And Mr. Mulongoti has advised political players to avoid corrupt activities during campaigns to avoid election petitions.
