The Valuation Chapter of Surveyors Institute of Zambia has urged the general public to engage the services of qualified Valuation Surveyors before making commitments in property transactions to avoid loss and unnecessary complications.
Institute Chairman Chisebwe Fumbeshi says in order for players in the property market to pay the correct Property Transfer Tax which has been reduced from 10% to 5% effective 1st January,2016, they should engage the services of qualified Registered Valuation Surveyors in accordance with the Valuation Surveyors Act Chapter 2017 of the Laws of Zambia.
He says Valuation Surveyors are trained in the art and science of property valuation to help buyers and sellers of properties for their interests and overall development of the nation at large.
Mr.Fumbeshi has further advised members of the public to always ask for a valid practicing certificate for Valuation Surveyors.
