UPND has recipe for victory – HH

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says his party is convinced that it has the recipe for victory in the August 11th elections and economic transformation.

In a statement made available to QFM News, Mr. Hichilema says the challenges ahead do not put off the UPND.

He says 2016 is a year of change in which the Zambian people can reject the alleged failed PF leadership.

Mr. Hichilema however, notes that there remains work to be done and that for now the UPND’s mission is to convince Zambians that it has the best plan of action.

He says his party will in 2016 maintain a strong focus on the economy, which says requires the most urgent attention from government.

He states that economic growth is the best avenue for sustainable and significant job growth and wage increases.

Mr. Hichilema further states that the economy is the foundation of all of the country’s other ambitions and that without addressing it will be limited on every front.

The UPND leader points out that while the PF Government has resorted to borrowing heavily to plug the gaps in the country’s finances, this is a short term strategy and that the price is being paid by ordinary Zambians.

He says the UPND’s approach will be based on creating an enabling and supportive environment for local business to flourish and for attracting international investment.

Mr. Hichilema states that this means cutting back red tape and regulation, as countries such as Rwanda have done to great effect.

He adds that in seeking to address the various economic challenges, the UPND will continue to have dual focus on diversification and value addition.
