Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) President Dr Chrispin Mphuka says the reversal of major policies such as the hike in ZESCO electricity tariffs will send wrong signals to the private sector interested in investing in the energy sector.

Dr Mphuka says Government must evaluate the credibility of its policies before they are implemented to avoid reversing them.

He notes that there is a problem of policy reversals which has become more common in the country.

Dr. Mphuka advises government to evaluate the credibility of their policies from a political perspective before they are implemented.

He says the reversal of policy pronouncement sends wrong signals to investors and shows that Government is disorganized.

Dr Mphuka states that reverting to old electricity tariffs is a clear manifestation of a market that could not work.

He says electricity pricing in the country needs to be corrected if the energy sector is to attract investment.
