The opposition UPND says it has uncovered a voter registration scheme were some suspected Patriotic Front members have been issued with more than two voters’ cards.
Some alleged former PF members who have defected to the opposition UPND have disclosed in Lusaka during a press briefing that they were issued with more than two voters’ cards which they produced.
Speaking at the same briefing, UPND Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba vowed that the PF will not get away with this illegality.
Mr. Mwamba says the ECZ should explain to the nation why some people have more than two voters’ cards which he says is illegal.
He says the PF will this time around not manage to allegedly steal the UPND’s votes.
Mr. Mwamba states that revelations by the former PF members proves right recent media reports suggesting that the PF is doing everything possible to stay in power.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwamba has advised PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity Father Frank Bwalya to stop attacking the UPND Leadership, but instead concentrate on evangelism and not insulting innocent people.
