Government has ruled out the withdrawal of the draft land policy is being circulated on account of preliminary concerns raised by some stakeholders.

Sub- chief Natende of Chiengi District in Luapula Province is the latest traditional leader who has noted the need to rewrite the draft land policy being circulated arguing that the document is poorly written and not well researched.

But Lands Deputy Minister Davies Mwango says government cannot start talking about withdrawing the draft policy which is being debate by the House of Chiefs.

Mr. Mwamba has told Qfm News that his Ministry will have to wait until traditional leaders make their recommendations after their debate on the draft policy.

He says the idea of government is to first get submissions and understand what the views and feelings of the people are before taking any decision on the document.
