4R condemns signing of adopted constitution at Heroes Stadium

Fourth Revolution (4R) President Erick Chanda says it’s against recent austerity measures announced by President Edgar Lungu for government to hold a colorful ceremony for the signing of the constitution bill into law.

Mr. Chanda says this is shows government’s lack of financial discipline.

He wonders how government will be able to cut public expenditure in line with the austerity measures announced by President Lungu with such activities.

Mr. Chanda says Zambia’s current fiscal position does not allow unnecessary expenditure.

He states that signing of the constitution bill into law can be done at a cheaper cost through a press conference at State house.

Mr Chanda has advised the PF Government to do away with reckless spending in 2016 if the country is to come out of its current economic crisis.
