Church should lead crusade for peaceful general elections -EFZ

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has observed that it is the responsibility of the Church to lead the crusade towards peaceful general elections this year.

Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza says the churches with their unique position should prevail on members who are supporters of the various political parties to put Zambia first in their politicking.

Reverend Mwanza has called on church leaders to encourage congregants who are supporters of political parties to conduct themselves in a manner that would ensure national unity, peace and stability before, during and after this year’s general elections.

He is of the view that all the efforts of the churches to support Zambia’s development can only be sustained in an atmosphere of peaceful co-existence among all citizens.

Reverend Mwanza has also urged all leaders of political parties to be above bold and expose any member or supporter who engages in activities injurious to national cohesion and progress.
