Sikota makes fun of 2015 drama

Opposition United Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota has described 2015 as a year of drama.

Mr. Sikota has cited the electing of President Edgar Lungu as Zambia’s 6th president as on such dramatic events notable in the just ended year.

He notes that he found it amazing that President Lungu, despite having had little time to campaign, managed to win the presidential election by simply using a slogan “Ifintu ni Lungu”.

Mr. Sikota who is also a renowned constitutional lawyer has also cited the acquittal of former President Rupiah Banda of corruption charges at the No Case to Answer stage as another dramatic turn of events.

He says the resignation of Miles Sampa as Deputy Minister of Commerce as yet another unexpected decision that has held everyone’s breaths with anticipation of what his next move will be.

Mr. Sikota has joked that if Mr. Sampa who is also Matero Member of Parliament does not act soon he may be responsible for involuntary mass manslaughter of all those people holding their breath.

He has further cited the defection of former Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba from the ruling PF to UPND as another decision he thinks shows that Mr. Mwamba has what he has called the poise and grace of a ballerina.

Mr. Sikota has recalled that in 2015 he was also appointed Minister of Labor and made the mastermind in a group of twenty five political conspirators by what he has referred to as a notoriously unreliable online publication.

He is of the view that in the just ended year it was privileged for Zambians to get the first Presidential Press Conference since former President Rupiah Banda held his last one in 2011.
