Political Scientist Alex Ng’oma fears the country could see an escalation of political violence as the 2016 elections draw nearer.

He has since called for measures to be put in place to guard against violence spiraling out of control in view of the recent incidents of political violence the country has recorded.

Dr. Ng’oma says this is considering the anticipated intensified political activity in the Country ahead of the 2016 general election.

In an interview with Qfm News, Dr. Ng’oma who is also a University of Zambia (UNZA) lecturer notes that amidst an intensified political atmosphere, the ruling party will be positioning itself to retain power while the opposition will be trying to compete favorably.

Dr. Ng’oma has further noted that the political situation in the Country is already one that can be described as the run up to the big one.
