The opposition UPND says President Edgar Lungu’s indication that he will not hesitate to hand over power in the event he lost the 2016 election is testimony that he knows he is exiting office.

Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says it is clear that the Head of State is aware of the challenge that lies ahead of him.

Mr. Lifwekelo states that it is not that the people of Zambia do not like President Lungu but that they have merely resolved not to keep him in office for alleged non performance during his tenure in office.

He says by now the president has the correct information that he is not winning the 2016 election hence his statement.

Mr. Lifwekelo says in order to leave a legacy worth remembering, it is important that President Lungu tries to address most of the challenges people are facing.
